[💡R&D] Korean scientists report on a novel system featuring a TUBALL-containing silicon anode. It integrates large-sized Si microparticles (5 µm) with a highly elastic gel polymer electrolyte through electron beam exposure. The resulting system mitigates volumetric expansion while maintaining high ionic conductivity. The 500 mAh-pouch cell demonstrates exceptional stability and achieved high gravimetric/volumetric energy densities of 413 Wh kg−1 and 1022 Wh L−1, respectively, demonstrating feasibility even in existing battery production lines.
