[💡R&D] Bone cement enhanced with graphene nanotubes—reduces stress concentration on implants and demonstrates no toxicity for orthopedic applications!
Incorporating TUBALL™ nanotubes and PLA into PMMA bone cement reduces the compression modulus from 893.34 MPa to 487.25 MPa, helping to mitigate stress concentration at implantation sites. Cytotoxicity studies confirm nontoxicity, supporting its potential for safe clinical use.
These findings are detailed in a study conducted by researchers from Chongqing University Central Hospital, University College London, The First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and Chongqing Academy of Science and Technology.
